I could not agree more. Too small.
A small vocal part of our support thought they knew better when we had him.
His career has proved they were wrong.
Don't you just hate those small vocal parts of our support that spoil it for everyone else. No, not at all. Football is all about opinions.
But there were people like Barney who were very vocal in their support for him. I remember Barney making a right tit of himself at somewhere like Dartford when he went around to the edge of the directors box to have a right verbal go. I can only assume Barney was telling the directors etc that he knew more about football than our then manager. (Foyle?) History has proved Barney to be wrong, Quilks has done no good everywhere hes been at Conference level.

Ha, I was with Barney that day and remember our foray to the away dugout. To be fair to us, our little excursion was born out of immense frustration. I think we could have pulled eleven players out of the crowd that day who would have done a better job than those on the field! For what it's worth, I was a big fan of McQuilkin too. I love to see an intelligent footballer play with his head up. Were you there when he came on as sub against Luton and won the game with a worldie? Regarding his post-Hereford career, it doesn't really prove anything to me (League One contract or surplus to requirements at Telford). I rather like to watch a player at close quarters over a period of time and then have faith in my own opinion. By the way, where were you sitting that day? I can only surmise that you were in the press box to have witnessed our little moment of madness. PM me and we can introduce ourselves properly. It's be nice to know who you are when you're not posting as 'werebackabull'.

Was stood with the main group of Bulls fans and I saw Barney going around towards the dugout. Heard after what hed done, via BB funnily enough.
Why the preoccupation with who I am? Why do you need to know and what you going to do when you find out? Although I'm tempted, I will say that I'm not Munsley.
I am a long standing Bulls fan who supports HFC, and HUST. I don't understand why you and your chums are so anti the club? Everyone I know is just glad weve got our club back playing again in black and white and at ES.

Well, at last you've got something right....you don't understand. I believe most of us who appear to you to be "moaning" are very much supporters of a Hereford Football Club. We just don't feel the least bit comfortable with the misrepresentation and deceitful manner in which the present incumbents engineered their way to control. I remain convinced that liquidation was not inevitable but that's a separate subject. Many people I speak to are becoming increasingly aware the they haven't got their club back.

I asked because I suspected you might be close to, or part of, the HUST/HFC axis, but it's not a preoccupation as such, just that I pay a little more attention to things like transparency in the light of Munsleygate. I hate to think that after all our efforts last year, the new club should be plagued by the same kind of issues that we fought against with Agomdale. I was naive enough to believe that the new beginning would be accompanied by a new ethos. So far I've been a little disappointed in those running HFC. Still behind the team of course. The sort of fanaticism you saw at Dartford is a hard habit to break!

So you know who I am then, happy for you, I suspect I know who you are, but hey, snipe away. It's obviously personal (and I'm sure for reasons nothing to do with J McQ), but I won't lose any sleep over it.
Re. Dartford, FYI, it was a frustrated dig at Foyle, after a shocking performance from a dreadfully selected side - full backs were playing in midfield and looking clueless, while decent players were sat on the naughty step. James Bittner told a group of us shortly after that match that McQuilkin was a victim of football politics, and there was nothing wrong with his attitude.
As for history proving me wrong, you'll find that McQuilkin has had a lot more minutes of football at a higher level than many of the imposters that Foyle seemed to favour. And have you noticed how Foyle and Porter have performed since leaving ES?

Aye TBF, Jimmy's been on the ropes since leaving, but I guess he's still faring better, careerwise*, than Foyle in the wake of their spells at HUFC!
Anyway, I'm struggling a bit to work out how wayforward has turned this thread into another fight? Miserabull I could understand, but...?
* I see that Foyle has got a nice cushy role at Port Vale, so he'll be doing alright. But hardly climbing the managerial ladder.

He's partial to playing the man, not the ball.
In complete contrast to J McQ, who always tried to play the ball.
