Seen the Coleshill highlights on the Hfc website and I see what everyone was in uproar about now. Basics not being done in defence, worse than awful. Right-back not checking behind him, not bothered to chase back when centre-backs exposed. No zonal to compliment man-to-man, no one on posts at set pieces, no one capable of winning a ball in the air or making a simple clearance, no communication. Sorry PB but it isn't a question of sacrificing your football principles to put this right. It's a question of getting some football principles. As in the noble art of defending. Is there no defensive coach at the club? Where is the pride among the back four? If anyone in a park match behaved like some of that lot, they would get an almighty b*llocking and they'd be told: 'If you don't want to play properly, for your team, f*ck off.' At least they would among my group. I don't get it at all. Play football from the back, yes. But you haven't got a back. This needs sorting immediately.

Does anyone know any defenders currently playing in the Spanish 4th tier who might want a trial at the club? I'm sure they could do a better job.

I think that the problem is, we want to play football, the fans want to see football being played. BUT at this level football goes out of the window. Don't get me wrong, there are some very skilful players at this level, but the majority are big and tall and are good at hoofball, goal keeper to attacker, touch the ball and in the net. We will have to get used to some big boys in defence to hoof the ball away. Shame I know but what else can we do?

Doesn't mean football needs to go out the window at all; best way to get around any cloggers is to keep the ball on the deck!

From what I saw Tuesday Sam Gwynne would do that job well. Looked comfortable on the ball as well as very quick to close down/smash the sh*t out of the opposition - not quite ever gonna be enough of an attacking threat as a fullback though.

He's not and never has been a full back its same old same old, square pegs in round holes

Beadle said the other day that having spoken to Sam his preferred position was right back.
