Didn't he have such a wonderful first season in the Premiership aged 20. Good job he was sacked off early doors by Fergie too, I suspect he's playing for some Spanish 4th tier side now with OME's pal.

TBF getting a new keeper doesn't mean the end for Rivers; a bit of competition and potentially even an experienced head to learn from could do wonders to his game.
Doesn't change my opinion that what we need is a keeper that will command his box and come and claim crosses / high balls much more than we need a very good shot stopper. Hopefully Rivers can become that in time, just we probably need somebody else in short term.

De Gea's obvious problem is that he's 6' 4" but not a centre half.

Not joking. He was billed by Turner as the star young signing and didn't preform. But you are right that a relegation cannot be blamed solely on a youngster.
