Why does it have to be one or the other? Passing football or physical defence? We can keep our passing midfield and attack and just get a physical lump in defence. It's the role mertesacker does for arsenal and Rio did for Man U. All they need to do is challenge in the air and stand up to physical attackers. They don't need to then start our atracks, one of the midfield or a full back can come close for an easy pass. GET A PHYSICAL DEFENDER PLEASE! It was embarrassing last night.

Can't be bothered to watch the interview again but did he say he's looking for a decent defender with a bit height and muscle?

He did imply that. I think he said we are looking.
And he tried to put the idea to bed that the idea that the whole world really in their heart of hearts wants to play for Hereford FC.

On the one hand he says that the players are not learning from what they work on in training. And then on the other he says he still has faith in them. It also appears that like Brendan Rogers he wants his centre halves and full backs to have some creative footballing ability; which is fine if they can execute the basics of defending. But on tonight's evidence, can they??? Do a Di Matteo in the Champions League final and play Kontic-Coveney and Gwynne like Di Matteo played Cole with Bertrand in front. Don't care if it's negative, if the other team doesn't score and you do, you win In what way would that help us? We're conceding from long balls and long throws.

One thing I found to be lacking:An apology to the fans. You paid £8 for 9 goals and a whole host of other chances. You witnessed some comical defending* and some pretty decent finishes along the way and you want an apology for losing by a single goal? Wow. *I appreciate it isn't particularly pleasing when it is us doing the comical defending but still...

Bullrush, they were little better than two pub outfits, but I suspect you know that better than I do. I didn't however expect an apology to the fans.

It was a horrible defensive performance. The worst I can remember in 40+ years supporting the Bulls. 3 goals, THREE goals from throwings ffs. And against such a poor side. I think an apology would be appropriate but what we need more is for him to make sure these defensive lapses are a thing of the past. Get the right players in for this league and quickly while we still have the 'new club' momentum.

Not sure what you mean by that but I was far from happy with the result or the scoreline. I was actually playing (and winning*) against Ewyas Harold Tuesday night so sadly I'm only going off a report from my brother (who I do trust when it comes to football knowledge) and the 12 minute video HFC posted this morning - obviously that doesn't tell the whole story of the game but it allowed me to see some of the defending that took place (or didn't for that matter). *Superb rearguard performance against last seasons champions

If Jimmy Harvey had got the job ahead of Beadle we'd be top of the league with no goals conceded by now!

I'm trying to learn it, never having played or watched it. That was my meaning. No offence intended.

None taken, wasn't sure what you meant. Not played at this level either though.

Or does that only kick in for an abject hammering at away games? Am sure there must be rules in place for this sort of thing. Perhaps you could supply the cocktail sausages.

As an interested observer what intrigues me is (and I know there has been a lot of spending on the ground etc.) how a club with the resources of HFC have not made a better stab of it (so far) than other clubs in the division who survive on a wing and prayer and are watched by one man and his dog.
