Right, it's clear from that abject performance at the back that something needs sorting defensively! Midfield and attack seem fine, not a lot wrong there.
I don't think I'm the only one thinking this but James just isn't cutting the mustard so far, so I'm thinking realistically how can we address it. Who do people think are realistic signings apart from the unemployed Spanish maestro we'd be lucky to have, of course?
I'd say a realistic shout would be that centre half from Stourport. We're probably not too far away for him (Depending on where he actually lives) and he looked very good against us; tall, strong and mopped up long balls all day long.

If it is a lump you are after to play at the back I hear that Andy Munsley is a big unit, he can be elusive as well which will cause the opposition problems.

I'd say we could do with some energy in the midfield. Centre Backs are a must. Probably two of them.

The worst part of this whole shambolic defence is that individually they all seem more than capable and its just when they come together that a sh!t storm occurs.
Edwards got MoM today (ahem, fourth goal (I believe, but maybe the fifth)). Personally I thought Sam Gwynne was a contender and our main attacking outlet throughout most of the game. Jamer reads the ball well although does seem to just head it anywhere and Oats didn't do anything spectacularly terrible. Add that all together and WHAT THE FECK JUST HAPPENED.
My honest opinion is that the major signing we still need is a goalkeeper. Oh for that lad that played the few friendlies towards the end of preseason (Lovett?) and commanded his area brilliantly. Yes, Rivers is a great shot stopper but teams aren't having any shots from 'open play' really and we would be much better off with somebody to come and collect the ball whilst the whole back 4 are watching somebody lob it in from the touch line!!

Do we now sign that Spanish fourth division player?

Lovett is at Cheltenham. Should look into a loan like the one with Page, but I thought and still think that we should of signed Siddiq Grant (Number 4 v Pegasus) so what do I know.

With the support we have plus the facilities we should be able to attract not only the best defenders from this league but from higher leagues as well. Turner used loan players and so should we. If this farce continues much longer gates will drop and we could spend years in tinpot lower leagues. Yes I am angry and upset. Will this nightmare to our club never end.

I'm a nasty b@stard central defender. Brought down a cocky nineteen-year-old from behind only this evening. I'm big and I can head the ball. Does it matter than I'm 53?

Someone get on to Beadle about the Stourport centre half. Before it's too late.

He will have the chance to see the Stourport centre half in action in a couple of weeks, not that we can really wait that long. Not looking forward to the trip to Heanor at the moment...

I'd like to see an offer put in for one of our old favourites, he's big and not a lot would get past him, speed Is definitely a downfall but we can't have it all! Cummon Beads...get on the phone to Lonsdale

We should loan and barter for the best defenders and mid-fielders before our season is over and we spend another year in this tinpot league. If our present squad is not good enough, even though they have served us well in the past, they should go.

Goalkeeper and CB to play alongside Summers would be ideal, but we must not go back to Keytonomics.
I think it could have been different last night defending the long throws if Summers had played, sadly Jamer, and Oates not up to it.
