During military action overseas, winning the hearts and minds of local people is crucial. Refusal of asylum applications from locals, who have worked with the British military, will put the lives of British military personnel at risk in future actions.
Khusal, an Afghan interpreter who, along with his family, are in danger from the Taliban, has had his application for asylum refused This is mainly because his home village is too dangerous for British or Afghan officials to visit to carry out checks.
