Why the obsession with lanyards? You obviously never worked for the council or in NHS. Or most public-facing organisations for that matter.

How dare the club have a security system. Jeez, most of you would be happy to think tinpot to stay tinpot.

Or stewards not knowing who certain individuals are, and those individuals being required in an urgent situation and not being allowed access somewhere because the steward has instructions to prevent people going certain areas.

My lanyard doesn't work any more. Would Exlanyards be allowed in the ground?

It's called self importance really???
I'd have thought it was practical rather than anything else.

Maybe we could have a whip round and buy a few Lanyards for those who are feeling left out.

It's not so much of an issue really, but we didn't appear to need them when playing Leicester or Leeds, so why do we when playing Lye? Despite all the talk of being in it together, some people will always be more equal than others, which is understandable, but necessary?
Probably not.

To be fair, Barney, that's just the way of the world these days. I work in a school where red tape and form filling now take up more of my time than lesson planning and marking. Displays in corridors have to be stapled flat against the wall so as not to impede egress along a fire exit, ladder training (I ask you, ladder training ffs) had to be given to allow me to put up displays above head height etc etc. Oh yes - and I am expected to wear a lanyard identifying me to the pupils and my co-workers. More a symptom of our elf and safety obsessed society than anything I should expect.

Yes GB I get that, required to wear one at work myself (couldn't get through most of the doors otherwise), and it's a fuss about very little in all honesty. But I can see why it grates a little.

I must have at least 10 in the back of my van, if you want one meet me in the Oxford before the next home game. I'll be wearing a yellow one. Blue and red also available.

I think I'd prefer to have a tie than a lanyard.
I think one of those would be suitable for weddings, christenings and funerals.
