IF we do get promoted - it would be good to have a pre-season friendly with Westfields.

Genuine question, what did Westfields do to help us?
They have had the best part of £20k from our away game against them plus another few grand from the MFL cup game so definitely hasn't all been one way.

Congratulations Bobby in showing some humanity,. We have unfortunately some real nasties who no doubt will raise their ugly heads on Boxing Day. And they call themselves supporters. Some showed themselves last Saturday at Lye. Our club does NOT want them thank you.

Well said, bobby47. I have struggled to understand why some posters show such animosity to a small club like Westfields. It seems a bit like bullying to me.
I played against them in their early years, and their players and supporters were also HUFC fans, as was everybody else on and around the pitch. If they are not fans of HFC as well it is probably because of anti Westfields attitudes by some HFC fans.
They are a local club who climbed the ladder to become the top amateur/semi pro club in the county (until the formation of HFC). I think they deserve respect, not disdain.

I find the animosity towards them cringeworthy. They aren't our rivals, they never have been our rivals, and they should never be our rivals. Andy Morris might not be every bodies cup of tea but they're a well run and respected little club.

Agree with all the above.
I think that one or two of their players got a bit overenthusiastic in the Cup game. Pablo in particular was lucky to escape serious injury that night so I do hope we won't be seeing any repeat of that on Saturday.

I'd have more sympathy if they hadn't tried to hack our first XI to pieces last time we met. In the meantime, they've jollified proceedings with some fine pre-Boxing Day sledging...

There were a few bad tackles in the cup match but no more than any other team has dished out at the street this season, this standard will always produce some ugly challenges, it is where we are

I bet Westfields players are pissing themselves reading this thread. I bet all supporters of any other club who read this forum would 'piss themselves' on how negative it is

"We've played Westfields twice and they are the last team we didn't win against and they are also the last team to take the lead against us," Purdie told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "I don't know what they do week in week out but when they play us they play well. "It's going to be a hell of a fight first twenty, twenty five minutes. "They've got some good players and they raise their game against us. "If they played against the other teams like they've played against us there is no doubt for me they would be in top six. For some reason they are not picking up the results elsewhere. "That they are down near the bottom of the table means nothing in that game because they are going to come out, they are going to fly at us and it's going to be the game they want to win this season. "We've got to make sure we're on it because we can't afford any slip-ups. "It's going to be great, the last time there were 4,500 through apart from this season was probably Conference days or may be League Two when we got promoted to League One. "It's going to be passionate. The fans are going to be passionate about it. There are probably going to be some hangovers and some beer flowing which is going to add to the occassion (sic - ed) a little bit, add to the atmosphere. "We are all looking forward to it and I'm sure Westfields are as well and it's going to be a really good game."

Have people forgotten this is a competitive, league fixture? Westfields are coming with the intention to beat us, and right now with how things stand in the league table, that puts our promotion chances under threat. Why the friendliness? We can be friends again once we've got the three points. Until then, no. I'm sure Westfields aren't looking for sympathy either.

The way Andy Morris and his board liased with the Hfc board by way of explaining how the mfl and its board works, how westfields budget compares at this level, and what sort of budgeting is required to be competitive. I think that constitutes as a"great help".

Deserves a lot of respect in that case.
