In his piece about John Davies on BN yesterday Ron disclosed that he had spent five weeks in hospital with pneumonia. He also suggested that he came close to not making it. š²
Best wishes for a swift and full recovery, Ron.

I was talking about the snooker with someone the other day. I joked that O'Sullivan was my second favourite Ronnie. What was I saying? 3rd favourite after Hereford Football Treasures RR & RP. Obviously I haven't included The Two Ronnie's.

Obviously I haven't included The Two Ronnie's. No mention of Clayton? What has Hawkeye (not me š) started? I am sure Mr Parrott would approve a thread listing any Ronnie's connected to Hereford football. I read what Hawkeye wrote and looked up and clocked the RP bible (the football league one) on my desk. It is so familiar that I don't usually notice it is there. What a book!!

Yes, Ron is pretty indestructible. Great companion on many away trips in the past. He has given his normal legendary attention to detail for his forthcoming publication.
The type of attention to detail that gets John Davis's name correct!

The type of attention to detail that gets John Davis's name correct! If that's aimed at me, best I clarify that I gleaned the spelling of the late John Davis's name from Bulls News. Not being acquainted with him, I took the spelling of his name at face value. Such a position seems reasonable to me!

Perhaps it was this "Jack" who was loathe to publicly agree with me on something the other day? PS They've put it right now. "Thanks, GRL. Oh, that's ok."

On the topic of the late gentleman I remember being disappointed when he was replaced in the starting line-up by Bob Appleby at Whaddon Road one day. Of the signings made by Dennison from Middlesbrough he wasn't the best. We lost. Thorndale played for them. He always did. Johnny Neville also played for us that day.

In the day we could all scream, āSkinheadā. He and Roger Bassett were the original arch enemies of my era.

Tilsed didn't make a single appearance for United, according to Wiki.
Is that correct?

Bulls News reports tonight that Bob Appleby has died aged 84. What a sad coincidence that he featured earlier in this thread. RIP.
