Will there be away travel if I’m lucky enough to get two tickets in the draw? How will they know if it’s worth putting on a coach? If I’m the only one who wants to go will they run a coach? If not can I sell the tickets on or do I lose the money if I can’t get there? What will be the magic number that decides if a coach goes or not.

This is baffling. Banbury's ground has a capacity of 3,116 so they could easily give us over a thousand tickets if they wanted, which would be more than enough given our average away support. By making it all ticket and limiting our allocation to just 400, any away fan who doesn't have a ticket will travel anyway and go in the home end.
After the crowd trouble last season that's a recipe for disaster.

And as you say, asking for trouble.

I wonder if The Police have influenced this ridiculous decision?
It's going to be 'So Lonely' in there.

Hopefully the ballot system will work - but maybe it would have been a nice gesture by the club to have ensured that those who went to Peterborough Sports on Tuesday Night were given a chance to purchase before others?

The club have been put in an impossible situation with 400 tickets, but I cannot see the sense in letting people apply for two tickets off one season ticket.
Potentially you could have 200 season ticket holders taking along 200 non-season ticket holders. It should have been one per person.

In theory but I went on Tuesday but have no proof (apart from photos on my phone!) that I was there - there weren't any tickets being handed out.
I agree that only one ticket per season ticket makes sense though.

Assuming the club would have known about only having 400 tickets on Tuesday, someone could have given out vouchers or whatever to those who were at the game.
And yes one ticket per season ticket holder.
I do think that those who regularily travel to away games should not miss out.
May be a bit more thought should have gone into this?

Ideas? Any season ticket holders on here who are not regular awayers could go in the ballot and if successful could get the awayers to ask? Split the 400 between 2 ballots, 1 for ST's and 1 for non ST's, say 300/100 Don't let anybody go and make Banbers lose out on the cash

Just turn up there. Last season their”stewards” had no idea and directed away fans to the home turnstiles.

What would the police do if hundreds of away supporters turned up and they were not allowed in. Would they want that amount of away fans hanging about the town centre. Would they have enough resources to deal with two sets of fans possibly causing a fracas in different areas. They obviously think there could be trouble if indeed they have advised Banbury to limit tickets to away supporters.

This is getting more bizarre the further you look into it.
The Banbury United website is advising their supporters that "This match will be segregated and supporters must acquire tickets for the right end" (by which I assume they mean the correct end) but looking at the highlights from their home game v Brackley (their closest rivals) on Boxing Day '23, both sets of supporters are in the same end. The Brackley fans have about a quarter of it and the Banbury fans the remainder, with a sparsely stewarded gap segregating the two sets of fans. The other end (the end we had last season when there was trouble caused by Banbury "fans" on their way to the bar) has only Banbury supporters in it.
If our lucky 400 are also to be located in the home/right/wrong/doesn't matter end as the Brackley fans were in December, then sadly I foresee problems irrespective of how many ticketless Bulls might take their chances and just turn up on the day.
A curious decision by whoever made it, on several levels.

Just turn up there. Last season their”stewards” had no idea and directed away fans to the home turnstiles. I remember that scenario happening at ES many years ago. Wolves fans banned from travelling, but they obviously weren’t informed, so they all clustered at the Blackfriars end turnstiles before kick off. And were let in about 3.05.

Hi I am a 28 year old lady who lives two miles from you.
I am into middle aged men who like non league football and who have basically given up*
I am particularly interested in hooking up with anyone who has entered the Banbury away ticket ballot.
No weirdos or time wasters.
*not MT obviously. There is given up and then there is given up. 😃

Bit concerned about your profile pic though. We had a right weirdo on here until about a week ago but thankfully he's gone now.
