Sad news. Modern female DJs have a lot to thank Annie for as she broke through at a time when female DJs were unheard of.
And not with flowery pop music, but proper rock, blues, soul and prog music. "Sounds of the 70s" and "Old Grey Whistle Test" were 2 of the programmes she contributed hugely to.
RIP, Annie, thanks for providing some great music listening.
