Half of the answer will be revealed later this evening and the other half tomorrow. I know. You can't wait. Swindon has never been so exciting. And neither has this forum.

For some strange reason the lad and I ended up in Swindon yesterday - as you do. Famous for being one of the UK's biggest dumps, the surprising thing was that we found two places where we really enjoyed ourselves. Can you guess those two places? (Withering wit welcome) A brothel and an STD clinic.

Swine Dun isn't a dump, it's just faceless and grey. But it does have the GWR museum and the A419 northbound.

The ego has landed. You can see why the celebs always make a dash for him and not the Ferrero Rochet now when they are at the Cannes Film Festival.

A brothel and an STD clinic. As I said earlier, 21 and 38 Manchester Road! Sorry about that.

There were some fascinating answers, but the first part of the correct answer is of course... THE OASIS SWIMMING POOL, SWINDON! (Worth waiting for?) Yes, hours of fun to be had there. They have wave machines and crazy long slides and all sorts. They also had an extremely attractive female lifeguard who listened very patiently to my suggestions for improvements to the place. For example, for the wave machine, I suggested that they also pump tropical fish into the pool, to make it more realistic. She said the fish might die and the wave machine only lasted for five minutes at a time so who would catch the fish again, even if they lived? I said that a possible solution was to buy mackerel from Waitrose, dump them on top of the waves and just pretend there had been a serious pollution issue in that part of the sea. Then just collect the corpses with nets at the end of the five minutes? She said she wasn't entirely sure that would enhance the customer's enjoyment of the wave machine. Anyway Little Meadow had a great time and so did I. But you'll never guess what we did next! Yes, tomorrow you'll get the concluding part of "Swindon: where enjoyment is not impossible." I know you can't wait.

Oasis is a craphole when compared to Cardiff International and Swansea L2, both better places to visit also, especially Cardiff. Stoke has an old but great fun pool.

But Gloucestershire is full of total mentalists? True but the Forest of Dean is Hereford territory. In the footballing sense. In reality it is no-one's. Watched Dennis Potter's Between Two Rivers last night for some reason.
