The EU's own figures of who pays in and contributes what and who becomes the recipient of the huge money exchanges to other member states is extremely interesting and gives a clear clue as to what the European Union intends for us all in the future. Take Blighty for example, during a five year period up until last year, after rebates, we contributed near on thirty three billion pound sterling to the EU and of that money, other than our established trade deals and associated benefits of high employment and positive economic activity within the Union we got nothing back. Our contribution is exclusively used to provide aid and support to the more impoverished member states. These points of benefit are the interesting area that give the clue as to what the EU has in mind for the West and what lies ahead for the East. Without exception, Eastern European states that were once a part of the Soviet Union are the biggest beneficiaries and recipients of what is essentially a Foreign Aid Programme. Whichever way they dress this up and no matter the language being used to bamboozle and confuse us all, this is the West ploughing vast sums of money into the impoverished East of the continent. This is being done because Germany wants this and it fits neatly and nicely into Angela Merkel's political ideology and that of other Western leaders who want a United States Of Europe. That's their grand design for all of Europe. Poland for example. They are by far and away the Unions biggest Net beneficiaries. During a five year period ending in 2015, this member state received fifty six billion Euro's of aid handed over by the governments and its citizens of the West. If you add up all the billions transferred from the West to the East and include all the E8 member states, the total package of aid works out somewhere in the region of two hundred billion Euros of Western cash that's been handed over to the East. And the purpose of this arrangement? I've no doubt that it's a noble cause based upon an ideology that everyone should eventually become equal and every Nations GDP, economic activity and productivity should be the same but it's frighteningly simplistic and doomed to fail. In short, the West is being required to become less wealthy in order to raise the standards in the East and make them less poor. That's it! It's nothing else. They ain't no other explanation for this disproportionate giving and taking arrangement. Do I mind? I bloody do. I care about us and I care about our future wealth and status and it doesn't help me and console my aching breaking heart thinking that our wealth is being sent East in order for their people to benefit from our sacrifices and our labours. I want our descendants to be a wealthy nation of people. I don't want our wealth bequeathed to us by our anscestors to benefit a people who were dragged down and backwards by the grinding fist of communism. I want my descendants to be creative and I don't want to see them washing cars, plucking chicken and picking fruit in some place like Lithuania because they've become wealthy from Western Aid and we became poor because of the EU and its desire to make us all bloody equal. If we don't vote out of this unholy Union the destruction of the Berlin Wall will have become a pointless historical event and it'll be the beginning of the demise of the West and the emergence of a people who though good and very hardworking, got left behind whilst we prospered, gifted the globe so many wonderful things and everything evolved into a nation of people who placed creativity above being able to graft for the wealthy. Please Vote Out. I'm begging you! That's pretty much tallies with how I look at Europe. A mass rebalancing.

Watched the video. What a load of cr@p! Was that supposed to be humorous Glad you liked it Alfie, here's some more for your viewing pleasure: I don't think its working, can you find the clip where the disgruntled Norfolk farmers drop a cow on his boat? I think he might relate to that.

No thanks! As you said earlier, "I can make up my own mind". I know but he likes to lecture others because he's obviously so much smarter than the rest of us. As for the article the graph is the most hilarious thing saying how much we trade with the EU. Hey here's an idea, how about we trade more with countries that aren't in the #@&te financially. Or shall we just keep propping up Spain, Greece and all those Eastern European countries for fun. Its not like the USA or China have anything going for themselves right now.

Cheers for the endorsement Jammo.
Can you point out where I've lectured anyone please. Like everyone else on this thread, I've simply expressed a point of view. Sadly one or two would prefer to play the man, but it's nothing that I can't handle.
Did you really find the graph hilarious? I'll have a look again, but I must have missed the humour.

Well you lecture me almost evertime you address a post at me usually in fairly patronising tones. You also keep on about something or somebody called alanis but I don't get that so I ignore it. P.S.. Didn't see your comments about the postponed debate on a European Army.

Here's a little analogy wot I wrote....
Mr British Government is married to his 2nd wife, Mrs General public. He has several children from his first marriage, and he is paying the CSA a percentage of his earnings for the upkeep of said children. Mrs General Public is not overly happy about this, but she sort of loves him and puts up with being slightly out of pocket to maintain their relationship. BUT the mother of his children was a bit loose, and they begin to wonder if the children are actually his or not, especially as a couple more seem to be appearing. The CSA payments, although quite high, do allow them to live a fairly comfortable life, but being quite savvy Mr BG is keeping his overtime down to a minimum (he could work much harder and be rolling in it, but he knows the CSA would just take more off him) The extra children, however, have pushed Mrs GP over the edge, and she demands that Mr BG insists on a paternity test to determine whether they are actually his or not. If not, they can tell the CSA to get stuffed, and then Mr BG and Mrs GP can work as much as they like, keep the money for themselves, and be much better off financially.
Oh..OUT by the way.

Once in a lifetime opportunity to get our country back and to be able to govern ourselves again.
EU is a failing experiment. Will not last 10 years after we are out. (IMHO)
Out!

OMG! Is this correct? The other EU countries also get a vote in the European elections. I was well and truly in the Remain camp, until you pointed out this equitable situation. For the record it was tongue in cheek, hence reference to the Eurovision song contest, but the point is, our "vote" being watered down by 27 other countries makes EU voting a pointless exercise As does my vote in a general election, where Herefordshire almost exclusively elects a Tory candidate

Is this the latest move in the government's dirty tricks remain campaign?
The deadline for voter registration passed at midnight but MYSTERIOUSLY the computer went down so now THEY want to EXTEND the deadline. If people were too idle or too disinterested to have registered earlier then tough. If this deadline is extended it will be an outrage.
I have voted Conservative in every election for 54 years but could not support them under the present leadership team after the intimidating, devious and scaremongering campaign.

Yet that's precisely what the EU is trying to do.
