Decent update from Caddis, a little on the emotional side but let's be honest if you don't at times feel emotional about the club then why bother supporting it. If it doesn't cause any emotion then the club is not for you. It absolutely should be the same with the players and manager.
I appreciate it is a paid job for Caddis but I'm sure we all can recognise the commitment he has shown during his time here. For that I thank him. I'm sure we will all agree he has stabilized the club.
I think some (maybe myself included) hoped this would be the year when we showed some real intent to move forward with regards to promotion to the National League. Going full-time would be the obvious one. It appears the time is not right (will it ever be?) but with recent goings-on at Morecambe in mind maybe this is a sensible way forward. For now.
As is always with Hereford, if you win games then people will turn up in numbers. It's always been the same. I don't see the squad builder total as anything more than a reflection of the extremely difficult current economic climate. Clubs like Chester, who are a similar size club to Hereford, still cannot count on as high attendances despite the average wage there being a lot higher than in Hereford. Darlington who have exceptional squad builder funds, appear to rely on large donations from a handful of fans.
For Caddis, and us as fans, it is what it is. And that is being realistic, not pesimistic.
Personally I'm looking forward to the new season, we might miss a few departed favourites or we might have a few new heroes who take us a bit further than last season.
Bring it on, eh?

Let’s hope a couple of gems have been added to the squad for the start of the new season

You must be one of just a handful. There’s some who know and ther’s some who don’t. But nobody knows if more know than don’t know. For the record, I know….. I know you know. The ones who know, know, but for those of us who don't know it's earthquakingly, mind bendingly, stomach turningly, heart stoppingly, knee tremblingly awful but somehow, wonderfully terribly real and yet somehow – unreal With thanks to Dame Celia Molestrangler and ageing juvenile Binkie Hunckaback.
