3240 with 27 still outside Radford's bar indulging in the Food Festival. 6-0 at half time with Boston's goalkeeper sent off in the 4th minute. News comes through during the interval that both King's Lynne and Southport are winning prompting PC to bring on Ceesay, Cowley and Andy Williams for the second half.

Sounds good. What is the final score or did you wake up before the full time whistle?

With Jess "eatings cheating" From Greensdale being one of the 27. I can't make Saturday so last night was a strange one for me. I obviously wanted Banbury to nobble Boston, but had all this "at least you aren't missing out" type crap going through my mind as well.

Well that was a damp squid to end the season wasn't it? Despite an excellent crowd we demonstrated exactly why we're not good enough for the play offs and Boston demonstrated exactly why they are

Again a big crowd and an under standard performance. Were we nervous? 5 good opportunities in the first half none converted. They had two chances in the second half both hit the net. Their keeper could have brought a book and deck chair out for the second half. He had so little to do. Their centre backs dealt with everything no problem. It was one of those games where I find myself counting their players to make sure they haven’t snuck an extra player onto the pitch. We were to lightweight knocked of the ball to easily. No more excuses were a new team, we’ve had our strikers out. Time to get real we were not consistent enough.

Not consistent enough, and I didn't go to todays dead rubber but SURELY we have the infrastructure in place to challenge now for next season. Yeah I know, its always NEXT season.

Foundation set. Build on it in 24/25, should guarantee promotion 25/26.

Against the top teams Hereford has not been good enough, consistently. Entry requirement for the play offs has been exceptionally high this season. Two teams finished with 74 points and failed to qualify. And goal difference is important, can be worth an extra point. Heading in the right direction but still some way to go.

Pond 6; Okeke 9, Howkins 6, Cameron 7, Hudson ("MoM", biggest laugh of the day, given that both goals emanated from his bailiwick) 6; D'Ath 6, Texit 6; Babos (won a lot of headers) 7; Ceesay (been useless since December) 4, Cowley 6.5, Williams 8.
Given the player of the season award went to Skinner - who is workmanlike, but no better - I invite you to reflect on the performance of Okeke today, operating in the same position, yet playing out of position.
Gregory, the Boston 'keeper was outstanding.
This has been the most over-hyped season in my 62 years going to Edgar Street. I like Caddis because he is passionate and generates goodwill. Respect his playing career, too. The team, however, is mediocre, basically. Midfield has been laughable.

I don't necessarily want to publicly admit agreeing with Wainwrong but midfield is where recruitment needs to be focussed, providing we keep the core of the squad together.
All season we've lacked bite and struggled to keep possession with too many wayward passes. It did improve slightly when Lyden wasn't injured. He's not the solution but it proves the problem.
Does anyone know what Ryan Lloyd is up to these days? Do you reckon he's got one more season in him without being sidelined for most of it?

Need a goalkeeper, two centre backs and a nasty bastard in midfield.
Defensively we are poor, we've shipped nearly twice as many goals as Brackley and way more than any of the playoff contenders.
Would love to see someone like the Boston number 4 come in. Horrible but effective.

This has been the most over-hyped season in my 62 years going to Edgar Street You may be right but there's two very important points you're missing. One is that our total of 69 points would have got us into the playoffs last season. Secondly over 4,000 fans turned up today to see what was effectively a meaningless end of season game, way more than we got under previous managers. Over hyped? Maybe, but the feel good factor is back and most of us should be optimistic that we can go one better next season.

Just back.
Pond at fault for both goals, terrible positioning from basic play.
Hudson's response to some mild criticism from the LWT at his poor performance was worrying, he won't last long.
Cowley needs to play up top on his own, Williams gets in his way all the time.
Different team without (Player of the season) Skinner.
*Need a proper captain barking orders constantly, no ones vocal enough, no leaders on the pitch.
6 out of 10 season, compared to the last few.
*Hodgkiss was the last one.
