Maybe one of the teams might not be able to complete their fixtures. Or one team may suddenly face a points deduction. We can only dream but the bench mark has been set for next season.

All seven National League fixtures played this week between today and Thursday plus Banbury v Boston and two National South matches tomorrow are streamed on National League TV and available for a single match pass of £9.50. Great value for football addicts, followers of Gateshead and AFC Halifax Town who have two matches this week, and wishful thinking Hereford and Chester supporters.

Tried it once coverage was shit for the first 20/25 minutes gave up trying to watch. Screen looking like an lsd convention. Pond taking a goal kick commentary telling me they were taking a throw in their own half. I gave up trying to watch as it was hurting my eyes. I complained. They emailed me at halftime to tell me that they had fixed the problem. But weren’t offering a refund for unwatchable first half. Tough luck customer. In the words of IAN HUNTER “ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY” I’ll stick to watching BAITEZE FC for my football fix.

They all been good recently. Especially the ones at Edgar St Agree. Getting the comms lined up with the pictures does help but yup, never thought of it as a tenner wasted. 0-4 at Tamworth excepted.

We can do it all again next season then. Scunthorpe lost to Boston on penalties.

Boston in the final by not scoring a goal in open play. Who’d have thought it?

What a funny game! The second placed teams in National North and South have been eliminated in the play off semi finals and Barnet in the National League (currently losing 0-3 to Solihull Moors look set to join them.) So much for home advantage. Boston are two thirds of the way to getting promoted without scoring a goal in the play offs.

Boston in the final by not scoring a goal in open play. Who’d have thought it? Huddersfield Town were promoted to the Premier League in 2018 without scoring a goal in their three play off games. They won their semi 1-0 on aggregate thanks to an own goal then won the final on penalties after it finished 0-0.

Boston are a good outfit; they were vastly superior to Hereford last week because they played as a unit. Half the Hereford players changed after Christmas and didn't know one another.
The van Tam outfit, however, lacked a mask.

After the relaxation of regulations concerning face coverings he has probably just got out of the habit.

The van Tam outfit, however, lacked a mask. Vastly? On another day Willo would have seen us two up at half-time. Second 45 yes, very comfortable, but against a team with understandably less motivation.

Not good Scunny still about My Scunny supporting mate reckons it was this year or never for them. They're mired in debt, will probably be part time next season. They might not be as big a contender in the league next season.

Spent way beyond their means in a shit or bust attempt to go up and when it failed cut their budget, lost most of their best players and finished in the bottom half of the table in the season just gone.

Brackley have obviously not read the National North play off script because they actually scored a goal in normal time which proved enough to win the tie and set up a home final against Boston next Saturday. Worthing beat Maidstone 2-1 to win the National South semi final and are home to Braintree on Bank Holiday Monday in the final. Bromley beat Altrincham 3-1 in the National League semi final and will play Solihull Moors in the final a week today at Wembley.

Just reading the names of those "contenders" after a couple of Sunday beers reiterates why I will never be happy until Hereford are in the football league.

I hope Boston go up now. They appear to be the nicer of the two teams, plus more history.
