That’s what happens when you outplay a team but don’t take any of your chances. Seems like the ref had a big say in the result by calling the play back for a free kick to us on the half way line when Cowley had already rounded their keeper. Be interesting to see that in the highlights!

We don't need a 6 nil win in the next few games, we need 1 nil wins every game rather than defeats.

Not down to the playing staff or management our budget just isn’t big enough for this league it seems , keep going lads d Yes, because Curzon Ashton have a MASSIVE budget that must be ten times ours on their MASSIVE average gates of around 300 fans. Well done, you've won the Stupid Comment Of The Day award.

Our strikers are not clinical enough, surely should have scored at least once given the possession we had and balls in the box. other teams always likely to snatch one goal especially if we push up too much. Need to win at least six of the last ten games now to make the play offs. It’s very close in top half of division. On form and present number of points, Scunthorpe, Chester and Chorley look to be best bets. Brackley and Alfreton always seem to be in there so we have to make the last spot instead of the other four or five teams. We need to see off all visitors to Edgar Street and get a draw or two away.

All our strike force on the pitch at sometime today and not one of them could find the net. Time to look around for a striker for next season I think. It comes to something when centre back Cameroon is the best option to score in open play.

Calm down, calm down (whining Scouse accent). We are not ready for the National League. The Playoffs, whilst interesting, is a vanity project for us at the mo. Next season will be a different story. I don’t buy this ‘the gate receipts are up, so let’s up the playing budget’ This sort of knee jerk reaction has cost up £0.5M over the past couple of seasons. PC is our best manager since, well, since…I really rate him to ship a few out, bring a few in, get us automatic promotion next season and back to full time. Bliss…. In the meantime, enjoy the ride (I am)

I agree next season would be realistic if the ground has been sorted as well. Just need to keep interest there now to keep the gates up around 2500+.

2,500 crowds are realistic for the rest of this season providing we maintain our current performances and efforts. An average of close to 3,500 is possible next season if we are in pole position or thereabouts.

However, this year, the squad from which to establish the 'retained list' will be almost entirely made up of his own signings. Given the togetherness of the squad, some difficult (but probably obvious) decisions will need to be taken. Who would be a football manager?

I don't think we will be troubling the scorers at the end of the season, not least because of our goal difference. I wasn't there today but would be interested to hear whether Cowley and Willo linked up better today. I know they haven't played together too many times but, on paper, they ought to be an ideal partnership. In hindsight, I'm wondering whether it was a mistake to let Freemantle go.

Yes, someone on here got slated last week for saying our season has fizzled out but it turns out he was right. We can still mathematically make the play offs but realistically if we can't even beat little teams like Curzon Ashton we've no chance and even if we did make the play offs we'd be out after the first game. It might be better to write off this season and start planning for the next one and for Caddis to decide who to keep and who to let go. It certainly looks like a season too far for Rooney and Willo.

A desperately disappointing result against extremely moderate opposition. The loan forward Phillips misses two gaping opportunities, Cameron two and Rooney one. Meanwhile nineteen goal duo Cowley and Ceesay are on the bench. Downing underemployed as usual. Still no assists or goals for the wing back pair of Skinner and Hudson or goals from corners by Cameron, Downing or Howkins.
Never mind the referee - that evens out: Mr Caddis needs a bit more of a grilling than he gets.
Fizzle, fizzle.
