Been a few recently and plenty of debates going on about why it's happening.
Simples...if players cheat, dive, fake injury, time-waste, hype-up their celebrations is it any wonder that fans give them a piece of their minds/abuse after the game?
It's a reaction to the players own behavior?

Or...the ones who've been invading it with intent to cause harm are just knuckle dragging 🔔🔚s? I know which one I'd blame it on.

Bit overblown on talksport.it happens every year in play offs.it would have happened at ES if we played Kidderminster for instance.i think we beat Hartlepool in fac and it got a bit ugly.dont get me wrong hitting a player is way out of order and needs sorting.

Aye, it basically happens in every game where a team gets promoted or miraculously avoids relegation anywhere other than Wembley. I'm not sure why people seem to sound like it has just started happening.
I doubt they'd ever be able to stop it so they might as well just carry on telling people not to do it and to get the players off the pitch as soon as possible.
The charging headbutt was ridiculous, though. That guy must've lost his mind.

I am surprised we didn't do it in a league game when that Steve Evans was the visiting manager.
I can still visualise him with a big fat purple face and his assistant going mental about throw ins etc. that were clearly correctly awarded to us.

I remember when the sweaty filter on here converted the word "C*#t" into Steve Evans. These days you can call someone an Arsewipe, Nobhead, Corbyn or Feckwit on here and poor Steve Evans doesn't even get a mention

It usually comes out as Farage.

I can't believe people are shocked that the lad who shouted in Viera's face got a mild kick.
I think there's some mileage when observers say these people spend hours a day on social media dishing out anonymous abuse, then somehow think the same cloak of protection is afforded to them in real life.

Solution is for referee to give captains the nod for someone to kick ball into touch by the dugout, all the players congregate for the throw, referee blows up and a quick jog to safety. PS Keepers are usually nutters and can fend for themselves.

I saw something the other week where some young bloke was being an annoying dickhead to Mike Tyson and ended up getting pummeled for his efforts. I just assume these people understand that they were asking for it and mark it down as life experience. Quite why anyone would want to see Tyson or Veira charged is beyond me. Life skills, innit. Just to add, I don't actually have a problem with those people being annoying dickheads, it's simply that they should not be surprised when their target decides to smack them. The next day they should all feel a bit bad and then forget about it.

But generally, yep, nutters. T Hughes a good example.

I think an immediate 10 point deduction for Everton may help to stem this idiocy.

From what I've seen, the mass debate* has focused more on the assaults on managers and players as part of this latest trend, which I think, maybe barring a few historical events, is more of a recent phenomenon.
Pitch invasions have always happened, sure - but they've tended to be a bit more celebratory, involving players getting kissed, hugged and congratulated (admittedly largely without consent) rather than beaten up. Probably not very pleasant to be molested by your average football supporter on the best of days but what happened to Vieira in the Everton game and Robin Olsen yesterday seems to me to be a new twist.
What's the motivation? Everton didn't stay up at Palace's expense, so what is the incentive to get at Vieira? Manchester City had the title wrapped up prior to kick off assuming they didn't drop any points and, as far as I can gather, had no particular axe to grind with Villa or especially Olsen who was making his debut for them - it's a phrase that could apply to Man City in general, but specifically with this fixture - where's the history? Why not celebrate completing your purchase of the title with your players rather than Hancockting one of their opponents?
I suppose I'd do as well to psychoanalyse the physician's sponge as the type of supporter who would indulge in this sort of behaviour but it doesn't stop me asking.
* Yeah...
