Charging £285 to stand in a broken stadium in order to watch part time footballers desperately trying not to lose a Conference North match does not sound reasonable to me. I tend to agree with you on this and think that given the standard on offer, it is expensive. To put it into perspective though, I've been fortunate enough to watch Liverpool 5 times this season and I've just worked out that in total it's cost me £270 in tickets, all at face value! Not that I regret a penny of it mind you. And to be fair, amongst those 5 games, it did only cost £30 for me (£25) and my lad (£5) to watch them knock Shrewsbury out of the cup. 😀 That is also a rip. Although I suppose you are paying to see some of the best players in the world not some unknown bloke who has just signed on non-contract terms and who is unlikely to be ever seen again.

Bus from Ross to Hereford. Get into game. Chips after. Buy a lp Record in buzz music. Bus from Hereford back to Ross. All for under £2 those were the days. I saw some sh1t games then as well.(Hereford v Telford to get a voucher for West Ham fa cup game springs to mind 0-0 boring draw).

For another £1 you could have spent the night in the Lich, drinking Gaymers Olde English, and still had enough for a packet of ten No. 6. That would have been about 20% of my apprentice wages For context, does anybody know what the average wage for an apprentice is nowadays, and what percentage of their wages would be spent on the average Saturday night out? Did anybody else have the weekly ritual of paying their Dad back the money they owed him on a Friday, then borrowed exactly the same amount to go out on the Sunday?

They all drive brand new Audi's and BMW's. Slightly different to your example.

Basic choices in Hereford were Bulmers in Whitbread houses or Gaymers in Ansells houses. End of the week, when money was just about gone, you threw caution to the wind and risked what they had in the barrels that sat on the bar in The Horse and Groom, The Commercial or The Sun*; these drinks came with a spoon. * - The Sun later replaced their barrel of rough scrump with a barrel of Bulmers Traditional.

But you get to see your mates. You get to moan in public to real people. You get to get pissed, and in company if you want. You get to use your right hand (or your left hand) for gesturing at referees, which always makes a refreshing change. Sometimes, you get to shout "YES!" at the same time as other people. Small price to pay. You should try it. And even though today was a dead rubber "oh well I better go as it is free and I am addicted to alcohol and this is a sneaky way of injecting it without attracting too much attention", that was a great way to spend a bank holiday Monday.

Stowfords is like squash compared to Weston’s supreme. My local Said when you have drunk 4pints of supreme you don’t have to pay for any you drink after. Never saw anyone get the 5th pint only idiots tried. People went missing after the 3rd.

I'm glad you had a nice day. I also had a nice day! Once you've spent time away from doing the same thing every week you see that it's madness. But there's not much use in trying to make that point on a football forum. I appreciate that.

I'll bow to your better knowledge on cider; I made what I think was a sensible decision, for the sake of my health and intellect, to stop drinking it once I'd reached my 40th birthday. However, I did think that Supreme was one of Weston's Stowford Press ciders.

Yes but we have two extra games on our season ticket compared to them. They will have to close the Welsh side of their stadium for two games due to Welsh COVID restrictions which will be brought in.

So it’s not just the club taking the p!ss over the price of a season ticket, some fans are doing so also. How can Chester charge as much for a full season ticket as Hereford are charging for early bird tickets, just goes to show who is prepared to speculate to accumulate , this will be the third season that I and members of the family will not be purchasing season tickets, possibly won’t bother attending this coming season, only did five games this season, only in one of those games did Hereford play any football worth talking about.

I'll tell you what. Just limit yourself to one away game - Southport, for example. Get it all over and done with in one go.
