I think people are criticising the Board not Richards. Only time will tell but at this present moment, I fail to see that the club has benefited from this sudden change of management. Beadle/ Jenkins vs Harris/Richards. Worth all the chaos of the last 3 weeks? Not for me. And the cash. More paid backroom staff than players at this rate. HUFC had that problem at one point during David Keyte's tenure. That didn't end well. I bet they didn't "take advice" from him. Would've done well to. As Hendre says, nothing against Richards. He may do very well. Doesn't make much financial sense though when we can't field a competitive side at the moment, does it?

Having had an hour or so to consider it, I have to admit that I'm not privy to the information available to the person (singular) who made the decision.
I wish the new fella all the best and hope he realises what he has to live up to.
May just mean we won't PTTPL until February.

Is it national tw@t night! We are a small team in National League North, people wanted a younger go ahead manager to replace Beadle, so you’ve got what you wanted and still moaning! Give the guy a chance, you’re making me embarrassed to know I share a terrace with these imbeciles No, most people were quite happy to let Beadle get on with it, bring a few in, ship a few out and wait for injured players to come back. If you had asked if fanbase wanted beadle sacked to be replaced by a director of football (anybody), Richards PLUS backroom staff you would've got about a 1-2% yes vote on that. It''s bollox. I believe The Board have panicked. Winning run ground to a standstill, gates down, what, 30% and they probably felt they were staring at the sort of dilemma that Keyte faced. If this change-about doesn't reverse the trend then they may well be.

I think it did come down to more of a long-term vision rather than panicking and to be honest I can't argue with getting rid of him in that respect. That being said, the manner was a disgrace and the timing was shocking - should have been done over a summer break to give someone a fair crack to get their own squad assembled.

Didn't someone say that a Championship manager was one of the applicants? Why would a Championship Manager be applying for a part time coaching role at a club in the nether regions of the NLN? Would be very odd.

Sounds like a decent appointment to me. I don't know what more anyone can realistically say than "good luck" to him. Why was expectation so high? Have you not seen the division you're playing in? And - to cap it all - you've just sacked the most successful manager you've ever had after a perceived dip in form at the highest level you've ever played at. In many ways, you should be grateful there were any applicants!

The former Championship manager was, I think, Lee Clark? Apparently there was a big clash of personality between 46-year-old Peter Beadle and one of our directors.

Well this coalition of managers, Harris and Richards......didn't work at Gloucester , so why should it work here? All I can say is best of luck.....trhink they are going to need it. As for the board of directors.......talk to your wives, they obviously know more about football than their other halve .... By the way... looks like the flood gates have opened.....1 down after 15 mins.

Or a personality clash between one of the more prominent benefactors.

I had hoped that all this nonsense that the Board has created would at least end up with an uplifting replacement. I was so wrong. This is just jobs for the boys. I could not be more disillusioned with this club at present. I think we will have to wait and see on the success of this underwhelming choice. If it turns out to be a bad decision, I think the board should resign and the club become a 100% fans club with a board made up of the fans.

I wish him the best of luck, but I won't be seen at ES until he proves that he can turn things around. As others have said, 2 out, 4 in, and the board was refusing to give PB a few quid extra for the playing budget. I wonder if Peter smelt a rat back then, because the smell at the moment is overpowering. Jobs for the boys?? Looks like it, and the consequences if it doesn't work...….?
