I should imagine that the wage relates to the company secretary, not the club secretary. Different roles. You may well be right but having looked again it doesn't specify. It just says 'the secretary'. Has anyone been appointed as company secretary? Hugh Brooks I believe

Moving didn't do Swansea any harm. Their ground appears a bit more central than many; is that true? Losing the Edgar Street site could be bearable as long as we don't end up in Rotherwas or somewhere miles away from civilisation. That would really test the enjoyment factor.

Growing up in Shanghai made me the man I am today. * * And taught me some invaluable survival skills that still serve me well in adult life.

We are incredibly fortunate to have a ground a few minutes walk from the City Centre with a huge car park next to it.
I can't think of any other club in a similar locale. Anyone?

Part of the enjoyment of Kingsholm is its proximity to the City Centre with a number of decent (and one or two excellent) pubs on the doorstep. Parking is a bit of a nightmare (unless you know where to go of course...)
There have been mumbling so in the past about moving, but that would cause a huge furore, mainly because the club is part of the fabric of the city. The job for Bulls fans is to make Edgar Street the same. A successful club gaining consecutive promotions in the next three years will help massively. Even if ES is lost, if the will is there, then the replacement can be made fit for purpose. Which is why this needs to be addressed and planned for now.

What happened to all the housing planned for Edgar Street? Agomdale went bust.

Mmmm. I'm sitting in Shrewsbury supping coffee with my daughter. On the train up I again passed the Slop's shiny but soulless new ground. Then I thought of the Highgate ground. Then I thought of the Merton Stand and where my seat is in G block. Then I thought "yeah, maybe we should move to a new location." Maybe. Gay Meadow was great. The new ground is the worst ground I've been.

Not been to the Kassam then? Or the New Lawn?
(Or Highgate?)

What about if the original benefactors stood as guarantors to convince The Council that their rent and rates will be covered for 5 years but in return the named benefactors get first refusal to develop the vacated Edgar Street Stadium footprint at the end of the lease. The Hale/Watson/Williams and Webb gang get to play out their football club owners dream but the real prize is already wrapped up by the benefactors. The scale of difference between the previous leases as negotiated by Keyte and the Council in favour of the Hereford United Football Club to that that we have today is so vast that there must be something in this for someone??

How long was the lease on the ground footprint that HUFC had?
250 years for the development leases, IIRC.

...and 35 years on the stadium to be extended to 100 years upon completion of the redevelopment IIRC.

So why does Martin Watson describe himself as "Secretary" in emails not Football Director? And while I'm at it, was it too much to ask just one of you feckers, in tree pages, to answer the fcking question I asked at the start of the thread? It's still not too late. (Grumpy)

On the train up I again passed the Slop's shiny but soulless new ground. I miss their proper ground. It was a character. Of course by moving away from the town centre they protected themselves from parasites which with hindsight was a smart move.

And if Hereford leave Edgar Street and there is no Meadow End, that might be it for me and quite a few others. It's the connection with childhood and history that keeps me coming back and it must be the same for some others.
