Interesting fact from history taken from an old programme I have. Hereford United Reserves played Heanor Town at Edgar Street on Saturday 11th November 1972, in the West Midlands League, Premier Division. Result: HUFC Res 6 Heanor Town 1. Scorers for Hereford included one David Keyte.
The previous home match for the Reserves was against Wolves "A" team played in front of 2,464. HUFC Res won 3-1. The team included local lads, Phil Powell, John Layton, Roger Griffiths, David Keyte, Chris Cole, Roger Mortimer (Presteigne I think?) plus Fred Potter, Colin Tavener, Lee, G. Gardner and T. Fawkes.
Apologies for being a bit of an HUFC nerd! Now we meet Heanor again on a level first team footing. Ah progress.

Can you find any with Martin Watson in the lineup? Sorry about the language...

The 1972-73 season ticket had a page you tore out for each reserve match you wanted to go to as well IIRC and I went to a few. My God! To think I might have cheered David Keyte. Feel sick. Hope I wasn't there after all.

Feeling very positive about our chances tomorrow; reckon we could snatch a 2-2 draw if we play to our best.
Page and Mills the scorers.

9-9. With a 11th minute injury time penalty equaliser and HFC finishing up with only 7 men on pitch.
