That's the worst bit. They created NOTHING. In fact going forward they were as bad as it gets but they still scored 5 goals. That honey monster at number 8 had one hell of a throw on him to be fair, but that does not excuse the primary school defending by our players. I don't count lobbing the ball into the box as 'creative' play I'm desperately clinging on to the hope we never resort to that caveman style football.

Bazaar game that, we totally outplayed them for the whole game and their only chances were gifted on a plate. Sort our defence out and we will be in business. Played 5 conceded 14 says it all really

Winning headers, anticipating the knock downs, not giving away cheap possession, clearing the ball from the penalty area rather than fannying around with it - not rocket science is it?

Me neither, like you said, that's the worst bit conceding goals like that. I don't know what it was but it wasn't football as I know it. Onwards and upwards I suppose :-) Westfields should be fun!

Just got back and I'm fecking angry. What a complete defensive shambles. The keeper has absolutely zero presence and there is no communication between the back four and / or the keeper. Where is the leadership from our so called experienced players. Totally absent. Where was the tactical nouse from the manager. Totally absent.
A magnificent crowd tonight. Don't expect too many to come back if that sort of performance is considered acceptable.

I think we need a couple of players who aren't afraid to be very physical. They had about 5 players booked and I don't think we had any. We need agression, both on the ground and in the air, and I don't think any of the current players are going to provide it.

Their number nine was a prick. Proper dick. I don't know why but this is my favourite post tonight. Didn't really notice whether he was or not, but just love the way you have let off a bit of well needed steam.

His reaction to the crowd in the main stand at the final whistle was certainly intemperate.

The goals against column tells you everything you need to know about HFC at the moment. We've played enough of games now to know that the current defenders just aren't big enough or good enough. The keeper is a nightmare and that's where it starts. Oats and Bonella were appaling tonight, giving the ball away in dangerous areas and losing vital challenges time after time. Gwynne has confirmed what most of us know. He has no pace to go outside a defender and get a cross in and he's the master of the easy peasy square pass, constantly challenging other players to pick out the dangerous through ball. Our attackers must wonder what they have to do to win a game! Oates? I thought he was more solid than James. Not that that was hard to achieve.

The only solution is rebuild the defence including keeper and were back in business. A few changes here and there from Beadle won't fix the problem were in big trouble if we stick it out with the current back four.

The reality is that James hasn't got it anymore, Joel and Sam played well I thought but the two centre backs were poor, Harvey just isn't good enough, he has no command of the box and should have come out to smother the ball twice last night, both times they scored from his miatakes.
There is no leadership in the team, no one is shouting or getting people up for the game, no one is calling for it, I can't count the number of times Joel was free and wanted the ball, what did he do, put his hands up, didn't call for it just stood there. We need some passion and some respect for the fans, we will lose Mills and Pablo if we don't sort the back out then we will be in trouble. Beadle was clueless last night, not one substitution even though we were shipping goals the fans in C block were pissed off and a number won't come back, we have to sort this out now
Really fed up to be honest.

Do people think if we brought in a 6ft 5 centre back to play alongside James he'd cut it? I was delighted when we signed TJ on but I'm worried that hes lost it and frankly, we don't have room for sentiment at the moment.

Im afraid I agree we need to be looking for another keeper and central defenders who can stand up to this league. Saddens me to say this after 5 games, but its evident action is needed now!

Then work with what you have, he needed to move people around, or do something, I am not a coach but could he have moved Purdie into the back four and then moved others around, I know its not ideal but if he had no subs to strengthen then doesn't that tell you we need some more players, and if that is correct then that is Beadles fault.

And it's winning like that. Taking nothing away from the result because we deserved much much worse and genuinely gifted - and I do mean gifted - them FIVE goals. But they were the worst football club I have seen in a good while. Spot on... They weren't a good side... Really quite poor actually ... They showed F all yet somehow they put 5 past us

Dean Beckwith, Tamika Mkandawire and Karl Broadhurst. Sigh - halcyon days Broadhurst?
