Not too long ago a tackle like that on greener would have seen the lad launched across the pitch on his ass

In reality every challenge is a 'potential leg breaker'.
The challenge on Greener yesterday was a shocker (yes, that's coming from me Oxo) and a straight red in anybody who has a basic understanding about football's book except the ref's obviously (and unsurprisingly).

Wainwrong. So footballers do not get broken legs! Just a few examples to be going on with: Eduardo Da Silva,Djibril Cisse, David Busst, Henrik Larsson, Kieron Dyer Alan Smith, Luc Nils
To which you can add Colin Addison and Steve Emery.
Yes, that's now two Hereford players in forty-three years. Different club, of course. Mr Addison was at Barnsley, if memory serves me?
Reggie Bowen. That's three. Well, four now, it seems. Then there was Luke Shaw recently. A double fracture I believe.

I still can't believe the noise that break made. Can recall it very vividly.

Broke my tib and fib on Plock Court, Gloucester in a Sunday leave game in the 70s. They heard the crack from 4 pitches away apparently. Didn't half hurt and being a Sunday not much in the way of medics at the local hospital.

The rest were just collisions that are part and parcel. In over 30 years football I've only seen one person who I'd say got a broken leg from being 'done'.

Of coarse we forget Edgar street has magic powers which stop legs from breaking. You can add Ben Arfa and Ramsey to that list.

Not even the Late John Bird managed to break one.

If Greener had stayed on the ground the number 15 would have got a straight red. He made the mistake of jumping up and confronting the player giving the referee the opportunity to make the retaliation look worse than the tackle.

Well, if he jumped up, it wasn't too leg-breaking was it? Intent doesn't count.

Saw the woman this morning at a funeral in Brockhampton who used to maraud along the touchline with her umbrella. If you could dodge past that, you could get past most of the lumbering defenders. Early 70s; proper upbringing.

Yes or no answer please. Did you see the tackle with your own eyes?

Yes or no answer please. Did you see the tackle with your own eyes? He'd need pretty good vision considering he was several miles from the ground.
