Monday after the Saturday before, Im getting over a bit of football disapointment and I want a simple tea (Dinner as it's known in CBB's house).
To lighten the mood, I'm going for Egg & Chips. Lush.
What's some teatime Forum favourites?

Bubble and Squeak in this particular monkey house tonight - frugal use of the left-over veg from yesterday's rather splendid roast.
Served with a fried egg, a couple of sausages, and lashings of Havana Club Kebab House Chilli Sauce from Farmfoods.

Ooooooooo I want bubble and squeak now! It is undoubtedly one of the best comfort meals ever invented. Vey filling, easy to prepare; it can just be scooped up and devoured. Sometimes we have some remaining for the next day, and whilst whatever is left can be used as a welcome "side" for pie and chips (Tuesday's tea), I have been known to make a bubble and squeak sandwich out of it, and take it to work and eat it for the following day's dinner.

Roast beef with sprouts, cauliflower, Yorkshires, roast potatoes and gravy. Is that even legal on a Monday?

Roast beef with sprouts, cauliflower, Yorkshires, roast potatoes and gravy. My childhood was like that. "If you don't eat it now, it'll be served for every meal until you do."

On the odd occasion when I have been unavoidably delayed in the pub and arrived home somewhat later than planned I am usually presented with a large portion of tongue pie for supper.

Excellent value NZC, I'll see you next Monday. 6.30 ok? PS. You won't get fish and chips around here for £12.00.

Tonight, I am having a tinned Tom Yum soup from Thailand with added mushrooms, chicken pieces and rice. Cost, under £4.

Meadow End bacon roll. One piece of bacon. Also ordered coffee. They gave me Bovril. Which I only discovered after I’d put the milk in.
All for more than NZ paid.

FFS I would check out your ability to smell. In my experience, Bovril is invariably distinguishable from several paces away. And, are you sure that was milk? 🤔

Malk hides a variety of odours Excellent response. My original post appropriately amended. Given my previous whinging about proof-reading (or lack thereof) I feel suitably admonished and firmly put in my place. Salutations to you, sir!
