The total number of deaths across all settings in the UK is 36,675. Do the Tories really care about any of them?

My 91 year old mother only lives 90 miles away. I wasn't able to visit her for the last three years of caring for my wife. And I haven't been able to see her during the last three and a half months since my wife left us. I am very angry today. It shows. And understandably so.

Cummings has certainly shown what an arrogant t055er he is. He carefully says he has done nothing illegal because all this “stay at home” stuff is guidance, ie it’s not enshrined in statute so it’s not a law. No doubt our house lawyer will confirm....
Whatever, it is guidance which the greater populace were strongly advised to follow but it seems if you’re a wealthy solicitor and current Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government (the Hon Member for Newark) or BoJo’s Spad, then you can do what you like. Perhaps what they did wasn’t illegal, but the messaging was utterly and incomparably stupid. Not something which should be tolerated by any PM in any circumstances.
They will be hoping this just blows over, but if the polling looks bad, Cummings will have to go. Jenrick will be moved on too at the first reshuffle after lockdown. As for BoJo, he’s Teflon man with an 80 seat majority, so we’re stuck with him for now.

Johnson is nothing without Cummings. Which is why they’re desperately clinging on. If Cummings has to go, he’s an utterly vindictive little shit and will take others with him.
Rock and a hard place for our spineless incompetent PM.
Popcorn anyone.

I have a house lawyer. What do you need to know?
She is not only able to make the law, she can enforce it too.

I think that very soon most folk will start to ignore all advice and just carry on regardless.
Most creatures have adhered to governmental advice so far, but many haven't; few of those who haven't have been brought to book as far as I can tell, whether they be posh privileged creatures (affiliated to the current government who are issuing the advice or otherwise), or those individuals who clearly don't give a flying one about anyone either way (our neighbours, for example).
It's a depressing situation in many ways and the current government are doing little to assist anyone in reality. I'm unclear as to how I should behave other than I should continue to wash my hands and stay alert and go to work and stay at home and not have visitors and keep 2 metres from everyone and not see anyone from outside my home unless I meet them in a park as long as it's only one other person and queue outside a supermarket and follow the arrows and hope everyone else is following the arrows in the same direction and I only go to essential shops like Dunelm and Wyevale (to see George The Parrot) if absolutely necessary otherwise I should just not go to Wales.
It’s all a little flawed, and folks’ patience is being, understandably, tried. That said, the death rate/infection rate is coming down, slowly. Boris will try to take credit from this even though the truth is things would ultimately have improved under the administration of any government. With a better, less wanky (is it “wanky” or “wankey”?) government, things may have been a bit better a bit sooner. Indeed, many deaths could have and would have been avoided.
In other news, a cat has been born with two faces in Oregon. It can eat and mew at the same time.

Johnson was justly ridiculed by Starmer in PMQs on Wednesday. Starmer is very measured. I'd get the bet on now if I were you lot.

If Cummings goes, so does Brexit.
Which is why they are so desperate.
The farmers now know they were conned. As do those in the fishing industry.
Crashing down.

What a brilliant hand played by the Mirror and Guardian; break half the story, watch as the government flails around, defending the indefensible, then break the rest of the story, having discredited half the Cabinet. Cummings is toast, but not just yet. Boris doesn't work weekends.

We were all conned.* Why give farmers and fishermen preference? *On reflection, we have been conned for centuries by successive monarchs and governments so why would the events of 2019/2020 come as any surprise?
