We are going to suffer this tripe for as long as we stay a semi pro club. No disrespect to the players, but if this club wants to progress it needs full time professional management and full time professional players. I'm afraid that's now never going to happen because due to poor boardroom decisions fan/supporters are dwindling, without these people the budget for a full time club is meager.
It has become stayle.

The Board do not want a full time club on their hands. This would require a switch to being a professional outfit, and the accountability that goes with it.
Added to this, I doubt very much whether any of the Board are anywhere near good enough at what they do to be considered professionals.

I thought that one of Tim's official duties was to oversee the transition from part time to full time and that he himself stated that it needed to be done at the earliest opportunity (or words to that effect)? FWIW, I don't think that it is essential or even necessary to get out of this league though. Whether the current incumbents on both the playing or the management sides have the ability to achieve it is another matter.

Added to this, I doubt very much whether any of the Board are anywhere near good enough at what they do to be considered professionals. The difficulty is that we have the illusion of a fan-owned club, with none of the accountability and transparency, but at the same time a constitution which effectively precludes the kind of private ownership which could sustain a full-time operation with commensurate budgets. In other words, the worst of both worlds. I argued strongly for the fan-owned option and still favour it, but frankly with what we've got now we might as well have a benevolent despot who backs himself with his own money. Our private owners have clearly stated that their investment was a one time thing, and I can't say I blame them given some of the decisions of the HFC board thus far. In terms of advancement up the pyramid, I think we have probably reached our natural level given the structure of the club.

Completely agree that it's questionable whether you need to be full-time to get out of this level. Tbh I don't know why there are so many full-time sides in it anyway. I'm guessing Salford were the first and other clubs decided to follow their model. If anything it's a recipe for disaster imo. I do think the third training session model might work for us though. However, in order to get anywhere we need a Gary Johnson type manager not this bizarre setup that only works at Premiership levels.
